GUNOLD at Texprocess 2024 – follow-up report

New Booth Concept Impresses Textile Industry
Embroidery-related products attracted numerous visitors to the booth

With a total of 38,000 visitors from 102 countries and 1,700 exhibitors from 53 countries, the trade fair duo Techtextil and Texprocess 2024 once again proved their position as globally important trade fairs for the textile and apparel industry. The long-established company GUNOLD from Stockstadt also gave a very positive review of the trade fair. “We had numerous good and many international visitor contacts. Our open stand concept was particularly well received by everyone,” says Marketing Manager Stephan Gunold, pleased with the successful trade fair appearance in Hall 8, Stand G33. Prospective customers focused specifically on the products on display to find out more.

Threads, nonwovens, foils, appliqué fabrics – basically all GUNOLD products were very popular with the visitors. The different applications for embroidery nonwovens were most in demand. In fact, with 17 different qualities, GUNOLD has an impressive range of embroidery backings and is the undisputed number one on the market in terms of variety! No wonder, after all GUNOLD created the term embroidery backing itself. Back in the early 1970s, the Stockstadt-based company was the first to offer embroidery backings. offer embroidery backings. Until then, multi-head embroidery, which has been around since 1927, worked with interlining products for the clothing industry or backing materials such as newspaper!

The laser engraving service offered by GUNOLD was in equally high demand. Using a laser cutter, all appliqué shapes, lettering and other patterns can be cut, or motifs can be engraved on textiles, foils and other non-metallic materials at short notice and precisely according to customer requirements. The materials to be cut can also be equipped with a double-sided coated adhesive film on request to ensure a better placement of the appliqué parts.

Numerous Visitors, Inspiring Discussions, A Look at the Trends

“Visitors frequently and specifically asked what we are doing in terms of sustainability and what sustainable products we have in our range,” says Stephan Gunold. ” “Nowadays, nobody just asks about organic products – a lot has changed in that respect. The questions are now more detailed.” No problem for GUNOLD, whose threads are twisted and dyed in modern facilities to save energy and water and in any case the products in the GUNOLD range are largely manufactured within the EU! Short transportation routes within Europe save a considerable amount of CO2, which has a positive impact on the carbon footprint. In addition, human rights and social standards are guaranteed. “Although this is a must for us here in Europe, it should also be acknowledged in this context.” Another resulting plus point for customers is the short delivery times. “Many of our customers have complimented us on this,” says a delighted Stephan Gunold.  But customers also appreciate the service offered by Gunold and the short response times for questions. ” The GUNOLD team is very well positioned in this respect, and we really focus on this.”

The Trade Fair Highlights at a Glance

The sustainable cotton thread COTTY BIO in ten  traditional colors.  The final winding and application of a lubricant comply with the limits required by GOTS. Ten traditional colors in  Nm 50/2; dtex 200*2  are now available on 500 m Miniking cones.

KK FILM, ideal for fixing appliqués without ironing. The innovative, double-sided adhesive film is made of 100% polyacrylate, it is transparent and KK FILM is available on rolls of 25m in 100 cm and 50 cm versions. Special additional benefit: To further increase the adhesive strength and effect, KK Film can also be heat-activated with an ironing press or iron.

 FILMOPLAST STRONG , with a weight of 95 g/m² ideal for fixing heavy fabrics and in border frames. Available on rolls, in white and in various widths. The stronger version of the FILMOPLAST self-adhesive stabilizer  offers  significantly more support when embroidering and is specially designed for fixing heavy fabrics.  

Every embroidery machine needs to be oiled regularly. The fine dispenser of the OIL PEN delivers the machine oil to the right places. With Oil Refill, Gunold now offers a refill bottle for the Oil Pen. This and many other Gunold products are sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Gunold presented these latest innovations as well as its comprehensive product range of yarns, nonwovens, films, effect fabrics and auxiliaries on a total area of 45 square meters. As always, there was also the highly popular offer to cut test samples of nonwovens, foils, and fabrics from rolls to test them later on your own embroidery machine.
